On Sunday, May 18, Asian Community Alliance (ACA) invites you to a special showing of MINARI (2020). To celebrate this showing, ACA will provide a free Korean food tasting following the show and host a discussion led by youths and experts.
MINARI (2020) is a touching story that follows a Korean-American family who move to rural Arkansas in the 1980s to pursue the father’s dream of starting a farm. As experienced by many immigrants who try to build a new life, they face cultural challenges, financial struggles, and family tensions. Things shift with the arrival of the quirky but loving grandmother from Korea, who forms a special bond with the young son. The film beautifully explores themes of identity, resilience, and the meaning of family, all grounded in a heartfelt, intimate story.
